Pre-release Devlog 1


Hi! I wanted to write a short post about the progress being made towards the release! This week, i've mainly worked with the feedback I got at LiUGC.

Changelog:

  • Items are now given a semi-random placement when dropped, in order to avoid stacking. They can no longer be dropped in unreachable places.
  • Enemy corpses cannot lay on top of items anymore.
  • Enemy corpses despawns after 30-45 seconds, instead of laying around until the wave finished.
  • The player stats at the bottom of the screen is now updated correctly.
  • Dead enemies are no longer affected by instruments.
  • The wave size is now better scaled depending on the number of players.
  • Player 3 is no longer spawning in a wall.
  • The enemy spawn-rate is now dependent on the number of living players, the number of living enemies and if the players haven't taken damage in a while.
  • Changed the item prices so that every class should have an affordable item after the first wave.
  • The pickup range of players is now increased.
  • Unused controllers won't rumble anymore.
  • Boxes have less HP (250 -> 200).
  • Reloading  is now visualized with a progress bar, rather than the character shouting "Reloading!".
  • The action speed effect does now work on every type of item.
  • Instruments are rewritten. Before, the Bard had to play continuously in order to keep the effect applied. Now, he only has to charge up the effect (visualized with a progress bar),and then it will be active for a short duration. This will make Bard more viable as a class, as he can now multitask more freely.
